DECEMBER

December is a great month! COZ it's Christmas! MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

This month, some of us attended the Christ @ Work conference on 1st December. Sam also took her long needed break - a holiday to HK!

A bunch of us also participated in facilitating and serving at the 18th Youth in the Spirit Seminar (YISS) by Amplify Ministries. It was one of the best YISS-es we had ever participated in. Of course, it was fun serving together back at the place which got us first started into Ministry. There was sense of unison, giving, love. Truly Christmas came early this year. Thank you George, Abi, Paul, Eugene, Sury, Elaine, Jane, Gavin, Pris Wong, Vivien, Mar (who popped by) for your efforts to bring God's kingdom on this earth! And thank you also all of you who couldn't attend but prayed for this event!

WE then had the OLPS Youth retreat - Click image to view pictures!

And finally, the Leaders-For-Christ Conference by SACCRE YOUTH. Our sis, Elaine attended that and learnt many new things!

OCTOBER-NOVEMBER

October 20th: We did a P&W workshop session at the NUS CSS retreat, and to facilitate & lead a P&W session at Holy Family Church's Primary 6 camp. It was a good experience learning how kids respond to P&W... (it's different than their older counterparts!)

Then, at night (20th October), our usual Prayer Session covered "The Effects of Prayer" where Sam talked about how the result of prayer is not that our problems will be solved, but that we will be able to have the "Grace, Mercy, Strength and Peace, etc.." of Christ to get through it. We heard about living "in the light", of being in union with Christ, and how Jesus, being "The Truth", is the solution to our problems.

We reflected on how sometimes we don't get answers to our prayers because we do not pray right. We pray for God to take away the problem, when the problems are there to serve a particular purpose for our lives -- so that we develop the characteristics that will lead us to heaven. We then wrote down our 'worries, problems, and unmet desires' in life and got together to pray for each other, in small groups over those things that we wrote down.

Suggested Bible Reading: 1 John 1 (and chapter 2 also)
- God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him (1 John 1:5)
- If we obey God's commands, then we are sure that we know him (1 John 2:3)
- you have had the Holy Spirit poured out on you by Christ, and so all of you know the truth. (1 John 2:20)
- We have courage in God's presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will (1 John 5:14)

In November, we helped out at the Confirmation 3 Camp leading in P&W over 17 - 19 November. We then witnessed the Launch of Holy Trinity's new young adult ministry, IGNITE on 4 November, where we helped out with some P&W too!

We also watched a Nooma video (these things are the trend these days!!!) on Discipleship (following Jesus, our RABBI); and about silence (Quiet Time). It was a great reflection for all.

Finally, some of us (Marlene, Sam & Abi) attended Choice Weekend November retreat at the end of November, which we felt, was a good time for us to get in touch with our priorities and learn to cherish the people and relationships around us!

SEPTEMBER

Farewell at the Airport

On the 2nd this month, we sent of Matthias, our beloved brother from Germany. He's been journeying with us since Easter, being such a blessing to the group with his Faithfulness and openness. We're glad he has experienced God here in Singapore! And we hope that he brings back his experience to share with his community in Germany! Do Pray for him! Matthias, we will miss you! Stay in touch!

This month, we continue journeying with our wonderful Con3s. We remember one important session, on 15 Sept, on "Coming Back to the Father" aka, healing, reconciliation, forgiveness, etc. This week, we reflected on our sins/burdens and lift it up to God, trusing that He would heal or help us. We placed a lighted candle in the middle of the room at the cross, to signify this. We then had praying over as we reflected on Christ. It was a beautiful time.

YAM on 22 September 2007 celebrating Gabriel Khoo's (Con3) birthday!

On 22nd Sept, we celebrated Gabriel's birthday and the last session for our Confirmation 3 service attachment programme. Everyone shared a bit of what they learnt, and how they felt. It was great to see everyone being touched by the friendships, the community, and the faith each other brings. Dear Mel, Alicia, Sonia, Ethel, Sam, Christine, Daryl, Gab, Nicolette & Grace.... feel free to come back and JOIN us! We will always welcome you if you pop by again in future!

AUGUST
In August, we had our 10 Con3 youths journeying with us. An interesting time, where we were called to go out of our comfort zones to make others feel ever more welcome, to receive all these new people. We had a few visitors coming by too... praise the Lord and we hope they have been touched by the sessions and the community. This month, we celebrated National Day together, and helped out at the OLPS Kid's LISS ColloquiumCarnival on the morning of 9th August. We also attended the Conference for Youth LISS on 4 - 5 August, led by Fr. Gino Henriques at the St. Theresa's Auditorium. Inspiring! It's a time for growth for all of us.

JULY
July was a preparation time for the Confirmation 3 Service Attachment programme. On 15 July, some of us did a service project at Holy Trinity - And the Goal? To paint a children's classroom. With Pris' adorable drawing on the wall, the painting was a great event for all. And earlier this month, a big event took place for all Catholic Youth in OLPS and all throughout Singapore - It was.... 7.7.7 Archdiocese Youth Day! "2/3rds of God's Name is Go!"

JUNE
June was a busy month! Some of us attended a Leadership workshop by Fr. Gino at IHM on the 23rd, and this was the month that many also went for the YISS over 14-17 June, by Amplify Ministries, titled "All Things New". Some attended, some served as helpers. All testified that this was a refreshing experience, not like other camps before. It was exciting, many things happened that never happened before. So it was great!

Easter Dinner at Eugene's house before excercise on Forgiveness

7 April 2007 -
Since it was the day before Easter (Holy Saturday) - we did a meaningful exercise (led by Jac!) on the theme of forgiveness, and so we did the washing of feet for each other! Awkward as it sounds, this was a great exercise for us to help us show our forgiveness of any past hurts to each other!

8th April, Sunday - This was the Easter Party at OLPS where we led P&W. I'm glad we're finally stepping up to show ourselves and be seen. I hope we will continue to be more daring and step up to lead P&W sessions even more.

14 April session on "Listening to God' at Marlene's House14 April - SACCRE Youth Leader's Workshop was awesome for the 100 young leaders who went. I believe this is going to be the start of many more of such discussions to come! AMEN for that!

We also welcomed May, Dawn and Carol. Marlene gave a great session on how to listen to God... more notes and AUDIO CLIPS *new* will be uploaded soon!

At Zion Joy's YES programme15 April - Sury, Emma and I went to join the praying teams for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit session at Zion Joy's YES programme - a 10-week LISS for their parish teens. It was powerful! We were greatly edified by God's Spirit moving. Check out their 2 blogs: http://zionsjoy.blogspot.com

MAR
This march, we talk about Faith. We look towards examples of 7 teenagers in the bible, as well as our forefathers of Faith like Abraham.... This month is a time of change - we enter new seasons of our lives and find new opportunities, commitments, and new insights into our walk with God. On the 10th March, we visited the ENCOUNTER YOUTH MINISTRY's inaugural prayer meeting at the Risen Christ Church.. and some of us -Sury, Elaine, Sam - joined them for their P&W Workshop the week after, learning some new things about P&W!

We welcome Abigail who joined us this month.. (below left, with Jac)

AND just want to let u all know who Melvin is! HE's the silent one, been joining us for quite some time already - and I just want to thank him for his patient support in the ministry. He's our next up and coming musician!
