Youth
Arise Ministry (YAM) is a Youth Charismatic Ministry
in OLPS, Singapore. We welcome you to join our sessions
every Satuday night, 7:30pm - 10:00pm at the St.
John-Luke Room (OLPS Level 2)!

What's been happening each week
so far...
| ::: NOVEMBER 2008 :::

| November
is here! We are getting more active with the OLPS Confirmation
3 camp. Come to think of it, we have helped out in many
confirmation camps around other parishes from St. Joseph's
Church to Holy Trinity, but this is our first at OLPS!
So we are excited and really look forward to being an
instrument in leading youths towards an experience of
God in a way they never knew before. All we hope is that
they will learn to love and worship the Lord with all

Nov - Workshop on Intercessory + Ministering
- To equip everyone to intercede & minister to the
teens at con camp. |

- Spiritual Prep: "Five Loaves & Two Fishes"
- Open to anyone serving at Con 3 Camp
- Gospel reflection on the feeding of 5000
- To recognise that our offerings, no matter how small,
can be used by Jesus to do something great, to show
His glory.
- To get in touch with ourselves and with Jesus.

OLPS Confirmation
3 Camp
YAM has no session on 15 Nov (Sat)
This was a blast for all of us who helped out. Finally,
we had our first proper outreach in the OLPS youth scene
at the Con3 Camp - where we did a proper session leading
up to ministering. It is a step up for us, improved
coordination, and we can say that all these was done
not by our own strength but by God's! |

This Saturday was
a chill one, time to relax and break away from the
usual weekly sessions for a bit. We had potluck at
George's House, and celebrated our
October babies, Jac & Pamela's birthday! Coincidently,
they both have the same birthday on 3rd October!

We had guests from Canada,
Caelestia & Nathania! At this session, we heard about
how God sends us Angels in Disguise and can intervene
in all natural circumstances in our lives, and also supernaturally,
through prayer! We then prayed for each other and set
off for supper at Xin Wang HK Cafe! View

17 May: God Makes a Difference - This
week, we heard testimonies from Jacqueline, Elaine,
Priscilla & Gavin (above L-R) on how they had been
renewed after their encounter with the Holy Spirit.
It was enlightening, funny, and the session ended off
with sharing and ministering prayer. It was great and
we also prayed for Pris Wong's mum who joined us at
this particular session! Welcome also to Chantale &
Lynette joining us for the first time! |

- “How
to have MORE love & joy in our life” |
This
was the first of our Re:NEW series. We first watched
a video about the Charismatic Renewal and how it came
into existence. We then heard from Gerard about how
to have more love & Joy - his solution? Get to the
source -- Jesus!
We then heard the heart-felt sharing of Jessica Francisco,
on how she found more love and more joy through following
God's call and listening and waiting on God in prayer.
She shared about the struggles on how she gave up her
well-paying job to go where God had called her to, and
also how much more joy she received in the process.
And of course, how she met Gerard along the way.
The session ended with ministering and prayer as well.

Speaker: Gerard Francisco is the Chairman of
SACCRE (Singapore Archdiocese Catholic Charismatic Renewal),
and Parish Exco Chairman in the Church of the Risen
Christ. He has been serving in the Charismatic Renewal
for over 20 years, giving talks and leading worship
both locally and regionally. |
